Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
-
Send me a brief message describing what you are facing. We will then arrange a short, free introductory phone call to discuss your needs and see whether working together feels right.
-
No. Many people begin therapy with only a vague sense of discomfort, confusion, or stuckness. Part of the work is discovering together what is going on.
-
Our first 50-minute meeting is a gentle space to share your story. It allows you to get a sense of how it feels to sit with me, without any obligation to continue.
Commitment, Pace & Ending Therapy
-
Not at all. The commitment is to yourself and your own growth, not to a particular therapist. If the “click” is not there after a few sessions, commitment may mean finding a better fit. Staying engaged in the process matters more than staying with one therapist.
-
No. Everyone experiences “dry spells.” These moments often open the door to deeper work once immediate crises have passed.
-
Pacing is part of therapy. Commitment does not mean forcing yourself to disclose before you are ready. It means staying present and moving toward difficult topics at a pace that feels safe to you.
-
Therapy should have a sense of direction and closure. You may be ready to end when:
The difficulties that brought you to therapy feel manageable
You are using insights and skills independently
You and your therapist agree on a thoughtful ending plan
-
Commitment is relative to your circumstances. While weekly sessions are the most effective, bi-weekly sessions can still be effective when you protect that time and stay engaged between sessions.
Flexible Sessions for Your Life
-
I work between London and Beausoleil, and my own mobility allows me to offer both in-person and secure online sessions. This makes it possible to continue therapy even when locations change.
-
Yes. Many clients move between places, and we can maintain continuity by blending face-to-face sessions with online work when needed.
-
That is completely fine. If you prefer to work exclusively face to face, we can meet in person when I am based in the same location, without using online sessions.
Approach & Type of Therapy
-
Existential therapy does not focus on quick fixes or techniques alone. Instead, it explores deeper questions of choice, freedom, responsibility, and meaning. Rather than working with labels or diagnoses, we look at how you experience your life and what may be holding you back.
-
No. I do not provide medical diagnoses or prescribe medication. Only psychiatrists and doctors can prescribe. My work focuses entirely on your lived experience, patterns, and personal context, helping you explore meaning, choices, and growth.
Privacy, Ethics & Accredidation
-
Yes. Confidentiality is fundamental to my practice. I offer a discreet, non-judgmental space and work according to the strict ethical standards of the UKCP.
-
Yes. I am an Accredited Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with the UJ Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), a member of the Society for Existential Analysis, and a recognised Psychopracticien in France.
Who I Work With
-
You do not need a crisis to come to therapy. Many people seek support for a sense of emptiness, disconnection, or lack of direction, even when life looks “fine” on the outside.
-
Yes. I specialise in working with people who live between cultures and experience rootlessness, identity questions, or a sense of not fully belonging anywhere.
-
Yes. I support women and leaders navigating responsibility, stress, burnout risk, and questions of meaning in demanding environments.
Language & Cultural Sensitivity
-
Yes. I work in English, Dutch, Spanish, and French. You are welcome to use the language that feels most natural for expressing yourself, and we can even switch languages mid-sentence if it helps you communicate more clearly.
-
Yes. My work is shaped by extensive experience with global, multicultural lives and the psychological impact of frequent transitions.
